For three decades, Johannes Hustedt and Andreas Hiller have been traveling internationally as steadfast companions at festivals and concert series, transforming demanding works of classical and contemporary music into exciting listening experiences. Their 30th duo anniversary in 2024 was less a retrospective for the two perfectly attuned musicians than an opportunity to take on new challenges. During the anniversary year, they performed the monumental sonata "La Mitología de las aguas" by the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer in its entirety for the first time.

Andreas Hiller, ten-string guitar, studied in Trossingen and Bern, graduating with a soloist diploma. After graduating, he expanded his repertoire with forays into jazz, live electronic music, the music of the Eastern Hemisphere, and Latin America. Today, he also works as an arranger and arranger, as well as teaching courses and workshops. Since 1990, he has played a 10-string guitar with four additional strings. As one of the few people to seriously explore the sonic possibilities of this instrument, he is in contact with composers around the world to expand its repertoire. In combination with other instruments, the 10-string guitar forms an ideal sonic foundation with a range that extends to the depths of the cello. Johannes Hustedt, flute, studied music education and flute at the Universities of Music in Bremen and Karlsruhe, where he graduated with distinction in 1990. Driven by a commitment to musical and cultural exchange, he performs extensively worldwide, including appearances at prestigious international festivals, often straddling the line between interpretation and improvisation. He is the dedicatee of numerous works by contemporary composers. Radio and television broadcasts, as well as highly acclaimed CD releases on various labels, document his work as a soloist and chamber musician. He teaches at the Karlsruhe University of Music and is a sought-after guest lecturer and adjudicator. As part of the Reger Year 2016, the Max Reger Institute in Karlsruhe entrusted Johannes Hustedt with the posthumous world premiere of Reger's Scherzo in G minor for flute and string quintet, WoO II/1. His first recording of all of Georg Metzger's flute concertos was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award's shortlist. Since 2023, he has been the artistic director of the largest open-air classical music concert in Baden-Württemberg: Mount Klassik, part of DAS FEST in Karlsruhe, attracts up to 20,000 listeners.
